Rev. J. F. Robertson, Sr. is a native of Jackson, Mississippi, and a proud graduate of Jim Hill High School. Raised in a strong Christian home, he accepted Christ at the age of eight and answered his call to preach in 2010.
After being licensed and ordained at Mt. Center Missionary Baptist Church in Raymond, Mississippi, Rev. Robertson went on to pastor Historic Asia Baptist Church in Holmes County, Mississippi, and later served as Pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Sioux City, Iowa, from 2017–2024. During his tenure, he led with vision, compassion, and innovation, helping the church eliminate $1 million in debt and providing more than 40,000 food boxes and 40,000 gallons of milk to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In August 2024, Rev. Robertson answered the call to serve as Pastor of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri, where he continues to lead with faith, humility, and purpose.
A graduate of Kingdom Theological Seminary, Rev. Robertson holds degrees in Religious Education and Theology. He is married to Keiona Marketa Ford Robertson, and they are the proud parents of Kloei, Jeremy “Buddy,” and Kingslei “King.”
His ministry mission is simple yet powerful: to glorify God, preach the Gospel, apply God’s Word, and love His people. His life is anchored in 2 Corinthians 5:17: “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.”
