Bobby Roberson was born and raised in Ringgold, Louisiana and attended school at Ringgold Colored High School and moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1960.

 

Rev. B.G. Roberson joined Fredonia Baptist Church in 1960 and was called into the Ministry in 1961, licensed and ordained at Fredonia Baptist Church. Rev. Roberson joined Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Kansas City, Kansas in 1966. Rev. Roberson attended Western Baptist Bible College from 1966 to 1968. He was the Pastor of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Joplin, Missouri for 15 years.

 

From December 1982 to March 1983, Rev. Roberson served as the Interim Pastor of the Corinthian Baptist Church of Jesus Christ. He then accepted the call as Pastor on March 10, 1983. He has pastored the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ for 41 years.

 

He received certificates in Christian Education from the L.J.K. Williams Institute of Dallas, Texas, the Missouri State Baptist Congress, the National Baptist Congress and Administration and Management from Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC), Atlanta, Georgia. He has also received an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Ministries from the University of Central America.

 

Rev. Roberson has served in a number of Christian leadership capacities. He served on the George Washington Carver Park Board, as President of the Black Ministerial Alliance, Vice Moderator of the Southwest District Association, and President of the Southwest District Congress of Christian Education.

 

Rev. Roberson served two terms as the Director General of the Missionary Baptist State Congress of Christian Education of Missouri. He served as the Administrative Assistant to the President of Missionary Baptist State Convention, and was Past Executive Secretary of the New Era District Association. He was the first African American, since the establishment of the Association in 1806, to serve as the Moderator for the Kansas City Blue River Baptist Association in 2006.  During that same year, he was invited to preach at the Annual National Baptist Convention.

 

Rev. Roberson served as the Assistant Director General of the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, USA Incorporated, and currently is serving as Assistant Dean on the Dean Staff, and is well respected among the clergy /laymen leaderships locally and nationally.

 

Rev. Roberson was elected as the fourth (4th) Vice President of Missouri Missionary Baptist State Convention. He is also Director General of the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education since 2020.

 

Rev. Roberson received the Jerry Young Pastoral Ministry Award for 50 or more years in Pastoral Ministry on September 27, 2021, from the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. during their 141st Annual Session.

 

Rev. Roberson has been at Corinthian for 41 years. He is married to the lovely Mary Roberson, and has three (3) children.
